Outside Event Sales Representatives at The Forge: Lemont Quarries are responsible for managing the entire sales lifecycle, from lead generation through deal close, as well as for ongoing business and relationship development efforts with our customers. Outside Event Sales Representatives are expected to serve as brand ambassadors for our business, deliver thoughtful customer service, and seek to forge long-term partnerships with our corporate clientele.

 

The Forge: Lemont Quarries offers many types of events such as birthdays, graduations, weddings, mitzvahs, corporate meetings, corporate team-building, symposiums, conferences, and off-site meetings. Outside Event Sales Representatives will engage and work directly with corporate entities, government agencies, non-profit organizations, schools, and military clientele.  Sales activities will include cold prospecting via phone, email, and direct mail campaigns, supported in part by our marketing team.

 

In addition to prospecting activities, Outside Event Sales Representatives are responsible for creating proposals, securing bookings, coordinating with our Entertainment and Education programming teams to create detailed event plans, and help manage the relationship through the point of event execution and beyond.

 

Outside Event Sales Representatives must be self-motivated and able to develop and refine an individualized sales strategy while actively seeking new potential clients, driving new business, and developing strong relationships to help us earn repeat business.

Outside Event Sales Representatives positions are full-time roles and will report to the Education Programming Director.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The outside sales representative develops, implements, and continually evaluates the sales and outbound strategy for assigned areas, with short- and long-term goals that support the mission of Lemont Quarries Adventure Park.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Creating and building relationships with businesses and other organizations in the Chicagoland area and beyond

  • Following through with the sales processes from the initial point of contact to the end stage of booking and follow-up post-event

  • Following and helping to refine, and execute The Forge: Lemont Quarries’ sales strategy

  • Actively seeking opportunities with potential customers through cold calls, emails, in-person visits, and on-site tours

  • Developing a thorough understanding of all product and package offerings, and turn that knowledge into closed business

  • Following The Forge: Lemont Quarries guidelines when selling events

  • Managing clients throughout the buying process, ensuring that information is presented correctly and that the sales cycle moves in a timely manner

  • Working closely with the Operations Manager and Entertainment and Education Programming Directors to coordinate activities and maximize margin for sales opportunities

  • Answering basic questions regarding the operation of the park

  • Serving as a brand ambassador of The Forge: Lemont Quarries

  • Achieving your quota

  • Any additional duties as needed

QUALIFICATIONS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous high volume event and corporate sales experience (4+ Years)

  • Super-duper organized and efficient

  • Demonstrated attention to detail

  • Current computer skills (Google G Suite, Microsoft Office)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Flexibility in taking on responsibilities and tasks

  • Ability to work a rotating schedule

  • Some evenings and weekends required
