Eight Towers Adventure Guide

Part-Time, Seasonal

The Forge: Lemont Quarries wants you to join our rock star squad of Adventure Guides for the spring and summer of 2021! We’re looking for enthusiastic and outgoing individuals to help us create an amazing guest experience on the Eight Towers Adventure ropes course.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Our Adventure Guides are in charge of monitoring the ropes course and are active in the management of guest and staff safety as they explore throughout the park. Both in the air and on the ground, Adventure Guides provide encouragement, assistance, support, and guidance to guests all while maintaining a professional and respectful demeanor. Adventure guide responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Working both at height and on the ground to survey and monitor guests, fellow staff members, and the course with strict adherence to operating procedures and safety standards

  • Communicate with guests and other employees verbally and in possibly stressful situations to answer questions and provide clear direction with patience and tact

  • Demonstrate The Forge: Lemont Quarries core values in interactions with staff, members, and guests in word and in action

  • Work to facilitate an emotionally and physically safe environment for guests to explore outside of their comfort zones while adhering to the ‘challenge by choice’ philosophy

  • Daily inspection involving traversing course components and documentation of course and related equipment

  • Report to the Ropes Course / Assistant Ropes Course Managers and working closely with other Adventure Guides and Adventure Hosts to ensure clear and consistent communication and services to guests

  • Help other Adventure Guides, Adventure Hosts, Ropes Course leadership, and executive leadership to drive performance and efficiency to maximize course throughput and customer satisfaction

  • Demonstrate course stewardship and assisting in course, equipment, and site maintenance when directed which may include cleaning,  repair, inventory, and inspection


QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be 18+ years of age*

  • Must be within participant requirements of the course (forgeparks.com/eight-towers-adventure)

  • Must attend and pass a paid 6-day 40-hour training session, including an 8-hour online component and skills assessment (written and practical)

  • Must have a basic standard of physical fitness, endurance, communication skills, and manual dexterity. Position requires the ability to climb, lift and pull a minimum of 50 pounds, as well as sit in a harness and stand for extended periods

  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions including sun, rain, wind, and extreme heat/cold for extended periods. The job requires employees to be outside for the entirety of each shift

  • Require decision-making, risk management, and customer service skills, as well as attention to detail and the ability to work calmly under pressure in situations at height.

  • Requires a team-oriented attitude, punctuality, professionalism, and desire to help others (guest and peer alike)

  • Willingness to pitch in at all levels, there is no room for a “not my job” attitude

Recruitment Note: Adventure Guides can be selected for advanced training. Advanced Guide training requires an additional 20 hours to learn advanced assists and rescues. Advanced Guides are required to first pass the basic guide skills assessment and training.

PHYSICAL & SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:

In this position, you must be available to work a full-time schedule with overtime and weekend hours as needed. You must be ready to work upwards of 50 hours per week during the peak season. Additionally:

Eight Towers Adventure Host

Well then the Forge: Lemont Quarries Adventure Hosts position sounds like the job for you! We are seeking candidates who are excited and ready to act as guest experience creators extraordinaire at the Eight Towers Adventure for the spring and summer season of 2021.


PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Adventure Hosts are a key part of the Eight Towers Adventure guest experience from checking in, to selling merchandise, to donning harnesses, all the way to teaching guests to use their gear, and starting them on their adventure on the course. Hosts operate fully from the ground, coaching guests and assisting guides in identifying those in need of assistance on course. Adventure Host’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Communicate with guests and other employees verbally and in possibly stressful situations to answer questions and provide clear direction and solutions with patience and tact

  • Daily inspection and inventory of course structures and equipment including applicable documentation

  • Answer basic questions regarding the operation of the park and ropes course

  • Act as an ambassador of The Forge, informing guests not only about the adventure and entertainment experiences but also of the nature surrounding them once onsite

  • Coach, screen, and assess participants through observation and guest interaction

  • Deliver briefings to groups of participants in a clear, confident manner

  • Demonstrate The Forge: Lemont Quarries core values in interactions with staff, members, and guests in word and in action

The ideal candidate will have a passion for the outdoors, sports, or recreation and love working with people. In this role, you will be directly responsible for amazing guest experiences. A positive attitude, willingness to work hard and learning is a must!


PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The East Side Adventure Host is on the front line of the guest experience working across all East Side activities including Paddlesports, Mountain Bikes, Two Towers Adventure Kids Activity Zone, and Digital Activities (tactical laser tag, AR adventure games). Responsibilities include, but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Working with the team to operate all East Side attractions

  • Communicate with guests and staff in a professional and friendly manner that instills trust, support, and creates an incredible experience

  • Assisting guests as they enter different attractions, validating admissions tickets, and assisting with safety procedures

The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, the outdoors, recreation and loves working with people. In this role, you will be directly responsible for amazing guest experiences. A positive attitude, willingness to work hard and learn are a must!


PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not necessarily limited to: 

  • Assisting guests as they check-out, utilizing our point-of-sale system for both retail and F&B offerings

  • Communicate with guests and staff in a professional and friendly manner that instills trust, support, and creates an incredible experience

  • Act as an ambassador of The Forge, informing guests not only about the food and beverage offerings but also the park activities

  • Having a sense of pride and ownership of your space and being a leader of peers and guests alike

  • Ensure proper preparation and presentation of all F&B offerings

  • Assist in all safety, sanitation, food storage, and alcohol consumption policies

  • Have knowledge of spirits/beer/wine, the ability to maintain an appealing and Guest-ready bar area and have outstanding serviceability

Camp Counselor

We are looking to grow our amazing team of adventure enthusiasts! The Camp Counselor is a seasonal position with room to gain incredible skills and opportunities. 

The ideal candidate will have a passion for the outdoors, sports, or recreation and love working with kids! In this role, you will be directly responsible for creating an unforgettable camp experience for lots of awesome campers. A positive attitude, a love for working with kids and a desire to make a difference are a must! 

This is a full-time, seasonal position.


PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Camp Counselor is on the front line of creating the ultimate experience and making a difference in the lives of many children. This person will work with multiple departments in order to achieve this goal. Responsibilities include, but are not necessarily limited to: 

  • Assisting campers as they check-in, navigate the park and follow all guest protocol and safety guidelines 

  • Guide campers through daily schedule of activities 

  • Ensuring campers meet the requirements for utilizing the various attractions ● Communicate with campers and staff in a professional and friendly manner that instills trust, support, and creates an incredible experience 

  • Facilitate a positive, high energy, silly, welcoming and enthusiastic camp culture ● Knowledge of when to call Administrative Staff to help in difficult/dangerous situations

Food & Beverage Supervisor
 

Part-Time

We are looking for a Food & Beverage (F&B) Supervisor to join our team and take on everything F&B! Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing multiple aspects in relation to the food and beverage program.  The successful candidate will assist in the management of F&B operations, inventory, and staffing.  This includes our grab and go facility, roving cart, Adventure Dining experiences, and many parkwide events and private activities.

This will be an active role. Not only in the sense that you will be active in the day to day operations of the Lemont Quarries Adventure Park, but also that you will be handling tasks as they occur in the park.  This position is responsible for ensuring the highest level of service and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

 

This is a part-time position.


PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not necessarily limited to: 

  • Assist in the management of F&B operations to the highest standards

  • Preserve excellent levels of internal and external customer service

  • Identify customers needs and respond proactively to their concerns

  • Assist in the training and management of staff

Guest Services Representative

Part-Time

The customer service representative is responsible for all cycles of the customer service process as well as some basic sales cycles. The customer service representative is in charge of answering all online customer inquiries in a timely fashion and disseminating accurate information either via phone, email, chat, and some social media platforms. The goal of this role is to ensure brand standards of excellence and maintain high customer satisfaction. 

This is a part-time, year round position

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

The customer service and sales representative develops, implements, and continually evaluates the sales and customer service cycles, with short- and long-term goals that support the mission of Lemont Quarries Adventure Park. Responsibilities include, but are not necessarily limited to: 

  • Manage high volume of online inquiries through our website, affiliated emails, and social media channels 

  • Respond to website and email inquiries, and social media messages and comments within 24 hours 

  • Manage all internal communications on our Flybook platform including but not limited to park updates, rainchecks, and gift cards. 

  • Update park weather on the website as communicated by the onsite team

  • Sends weekly group update on Thursday to all upcoming weekend events

  • Communicate with guests and staff in a professional and friendly manner that instills trust, support, and creates an incredible experience 

  • Generate sales leads and send to the sales representatives where appropriate

  • Identify and assess customers needs to achieve high customer satisfaction

  • Handle customer complaints providing appropriate solutions and escalating them as necessary

  • Book and follow up on basic events such as birthday parties, outings, and more.

  • Answer basic questions regarding the operation of the park
