Grill Prep Cook

Part-Time

We are currently looking to fill kitchen positions for dining and catering on the quarry shelf. We have both AM and PM part-time positions, mostly weekends, but there will be weekday hours available as well. We are seeking grill & prep cooks that are looking to add their talents to our high-volume work environment. 

 

We are looking to grow our culinary team to meet the demands of the busy season. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, the outdoors, recreation, and enjoys working with people.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Grill & Prep cook responsibilities include, but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Assist chefs in prepping the catering menus, boxed lunches and platters

  • Prep in the downtown Lemont kitchen and help prepare catered food to be transferred to the adventure park

  • Assist in loading and unloading food and supplies to the lower shelf for grilling/catering

  • Grill proteins & vegetables to order on the lower shelf for walk up service and catering or for concerts and activities in the arena

  • Assist with dishwashing, food running and routine deep cleaning

  • Ensure proper preparation and presentation of all food offerings

  • Follow all safety, sanitation and food storage policies


QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Background, experience, or active interest in the culinary industry

  • Ability to pitch in at all levels, there is no room for a “not my job” attitude

  • Ability to easily adapt to changing needs and requirements

  • Availability to work on nights and weekends

  • Grill/prep cooking experience 

  • Demonstrate willingness to work hard

  • Knowledge of proper cooking methods

  • Good knife skills

  • Demonstrate success in a team environment

  • Ability to follow instructions

  • Able to work effectively with a team

  • Must have attention to detail, be teachable and focused on quality and consistency

  • Demonstrate organization, planning and time management

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

  • High school diploma

  • IL Food Handler Certification

PHYSICAL AND SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Because our park is located in a natural, outdoor, wooded location, candidates must be comfortable and willing to work in all seasonal outdoor weather conditions as operational duties may require

  • You need to be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds

  • Ability to obtain Food Handling Card
