What is The Forge: Lemont Quarries?

As an innovative leader in outdoor recreation, The Forge: Lemont Quarries is a state-of-the-art adventure park designed to deliver unique year-round outdoor activities for adventurers of all ages and abilities.

Where are you located?

We are located in Lemont, IL - 22 miles outside of Chicago. Our exact address is 1001 Main Street, Lemont, IL 60439, located on the grounds of the Heritage Quarries Recreation Area. Visit forgeparks.com/directions for more information and directions.

What are your current hours of operation?

Public Hours of Operation:

  • Friday - Sunday: 10am to 8pm

  • Friday - Sunday (Members Only): 8am to 10am

  • Monday - Wednesday: The Forge is available for booking private events, such as corporate retreats, team development groups, birthday parties, reunions, etc. For more information on booking private events, contact us here.

  • Hours of Operation will change seasonally

Are you open year-round?

The Heritage Quarries Recreation Area is open year-round. Public access to The Forge: Lemont Quarries will be available year-round, with reduced seasonal hours for waiver-based activities and mandatory pre-bookings for groups during the winter season (Labor Day to Memorial Day).

Do you have parking?

Multiple parking lots are available, including handicap accessible parking. Parking is included in the price of your ticket.

Is public transportation available?

There are multiple public transportation options available within close proximity to the park. Approximately half a mile from the park is the downtown Lemont Metra Heritage Corridor station, which runs a very limited weekday schedule. In addition, the BNSF line, which has a more consistent train schedule, stops at Downers Grove, approximately 6 miles from the park. We encourage guests to check with their preferred public transportation systems to confirm daily schedules and availability.

Is there an entrance fee?

The park grounds are open to the public. Guests only pay to use the waiver-based activities at the park, such as the Eight Towers Adventure, Two Towers Adventure Kids Zone, Bouldering Park, Climbing Towers, Mountain Bike activities, Paddlesport rental, etc.

Do you offer a discount for the military?

Activity Pass, Day Pass and Membership discounts are available for active and retired military personal and immediate family members. Individuals must provide ID verification. The discount is 10% off.

What activities can I do at the park?

When it comes to outdoor activities, you name it, we have it! We offer the Eight Towers Adventure - the largest Aerial Adventure Course in North America, the Skyscraper Tower - the tallest Ropes Course Tower in North America at 120 feet, X-Towers - two 90 foot climbing towers, Ziplining - including the longest ziplines in the tri-state area with overwater ziplines of 908 and 1,050 feet, the Two Towers Adventure - a designated fully netted, non-harnessed Kids Zone, Mountain Biking activities - including skills & pump tracks, five plus miles of running, biking and walking trails on site, Paddlesport activities - including kayaking and canoeing, and more.

Are the activities safe?

The safety and security of our guests is a top priority at The Forge: Lemont Quarries. While there are inherent risks in outdoor recreational activities and extreme sports, we provide guests with the instructional skills training they need to safely engage in activities. We highly encourage guests to watch our training videos prior to arriving at the park. Training videos are available on-site & upon registration for guests to watch prior to participating in activities. All guests are also required to read and sign our waiver prior to participating in any activities at The Forge: Lemont Quarries.

How is The Forge: Lemont Quarries addressing the Covid-19 pandemic?

The health, well-being and safety of our guests and team members will always be our number one priority at The Forge: Lemont Quarries. While we always strive to create an environment that offers access to engaging outdoor recreational activities for all ages and abilities, we are now committed to doing so in accordance with the best practices adopted by operators in the outdoor recreation and amusement industry as well as the applicable guidelines presented by the State of Illinois, and the CDC. Do you serve food at the park?

The Foundry, our Grab & Go Restaurant, is a great option. Per our Covid-19 Guidelines, queues will be demarcated so that guests are able to stay at least six feet apart. Tables will be arranged and/or access restricted such that guests can maintain a distance of eight to ten feet apart on The Foundry deck until physical distancing guidelines are lifted. Working within state guidelines, The Forge: Lemont Quarries also offers a unique outdoor Forgefire Adventure Dining experience with a fireside, chef-curated meal. Please note that outside food & beverage is prohibited at The Mount, Lower Quarry Shelf, and The Foundry. Coolers are prohibited throughout the park.

Can guests make purchases at the park using cash?

Due to Covid-19 Safety Guidelines, we are a cashless operation. Tap & Pay options will be available including Apple Pay and Google Pay. We are currently credit card swipe/chip pay, as well as debit.

Can I bring my dog?

The Forge: Lemont Quarries is a dog-friendly facility. Dogs must remain on leash and with their owners at all times. The Forge: Lemont Quarries is not responsible for injured or lost animals. Guests are fully responsible for their dogs and must clean up after their four-legged friends!

What are your age, height, and weight requirements?

There is not an age requirement for The Forge: Lemont Quarries specifically. However, the Eight Towers Adventure does have a set of age, height, and weight requirements:

Weight: Minimum weight of 70 lbs; Maximum weight of 250 lbs

Height: Minimum height of 52 inches; Maximum height of 6-feet, 6-inches

Age: Guests 10-13 years old must be accompanied by an adult chaperone. Guests 14-16 years old must be accompanied by an adult onsite at the Eight Towers Adventure.

Can you accommodate guests with disabilities?

Trails and access points are ADA accessible, ensuring guests with mobility challenges will be able to freely move around the park. Additionally, we designed an entire series of aerial challenge courses and zipline components to enable participants with physical disabilities to participate in activities at height, which will be available in August. We will also offer adaptive Mountain Biking and adaptive Paddlesports. Guests who require special accommodations are required to contact us 7 days prior to your visit to ensure that proper staffing and equipment is available on the requested day of visit.

Do guests have to pre-purchase or can people show up at the park and purchase an activity pass on-site?

Reservations are highly recommended to help promote social distancing. To avoid queueing and long wait times, we ask that all guests make reservations, prepay, and sign & submit all waivers prior to arrival.

What should I wear?

Guests should come prepared with appropriate attire and footwear. Please note that closed toe shoes that are secure to the foot are required for all attractions. Examples of proper attire include mid-thigh length shorts and shirts that cover shoulders (for harness comfort) and sneakers. Go to our Participant Requirements page for more information. Can I use my drone at the park?

Use of aerial drones at The Forge: Lemont Quarries is strictly prohibited.

Do you have team development programs?

Working within our safety guidelines, customizable team development programs are available and provide challenging and educational experiences that develop professional skills and improve team dynamics. Go to our Team Development page to learn more.

Can I rent space at the park for a private event?

Working within our safety guidelines, The Forge: Lemont Quarries offers a variety of private space for events such as corporate events, retreats, weddings, birthday parties, school field trips, and other events. Go to our Groups & Events page to learn more.

Do you offer Summer Camps?

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, at this time The Forge: Lemont Quarries does not offer our summer camp programming. We are looking forward to offering engaging summer camp experiences next year!

Besides the physical activities, what else can I do?

While our summer concert series, music festivals, film festivals, athletic events and race series will launch in 2021, The Forge: Lemont Quarries will offer programming including yoga classes and live acoustic music at The Mount. Go to our Entertain page to learn more!

How can I volunteer?

Join our Friends of The Forge volunteer program! Individual, group volunteer, and youth volunteer opportunities are available.
