COVID-19 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why did The Forge: Lemont Quarries change its opening date?
The Forge: Lemont Quarries postponed its initial opening date due to the direct impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on our construction schedule. We are open as of July 17, in accordance with the safety policies we have developed in conjunction with other operators of outdoor recreation activities, as well as the guidelines put forth by the State of Illinois in the phased Restore Illinois reopening plan. We will continue to evaluate the most current information and guidelines to ensure the safety and well-being of our fellow adventurers.
Why has The Forge: Lemont Quarries changed its operations plan?
The health, well-being and safety of our guests and team members will always be our number one priority at The Forge: Lemont Quarries. While we always strive to create an environment that offers access to engaging outdoor recreational activities for all ages and abilities, we are now committed to doing so in accordance with the best practices adopted by operators in the outdoor recreation and amusement industry as well as the applicable guidelines presented by the State of Illinois, and the CDC. This is to ensure that guests can safely and confidently join us in spending time outdoors to help relieve stress and remain healthy.
What are The Forge: Lemont Quarries Covid Safety Guidelines?
The Forge: Lemont Quarries is taking extraordinary steps to provide guests peace of mind while adventuring with us. We will adhere to the following evidence-based strategies to keep our guests healthy while visiting the park:
Adherence to Physical Distancing Guidelines
Use of Protective Equipment for Guests and Staff
Practice of proper Hygiene & Sanitation
Disinfection of Common and High-Traffic Areas
Using the above benchmark strategies as a guide, our team at The Forge: Lemont Quarries will also be implementing an amended operational plan in order to keep all guests healthy.
Will the park be enforcing these policies or are they just suggestions?
Our staff is properly trained to encourage and enforce the CDC's recommendations regarding physical distancing and use of protective equipment.
What will physical distancing look like at the park?
Park wide, all attractions have specific start times, with no greater than ten guests allowed to congregate in the same location at the same time. Virtual queuing is used to manage any wait times and queues are demarcated so that each guest adheres to the recommended six feet apart physical distancing measures.
Is The Forge: Lemont Quarries enforcing a maximum number of guests in the park per day?
By implementing a required reservation system and only allowing specific start times on attractions, we are able to control the number of people who are in the park at any given time, as well as the total number of people who pass through the park per day.
What activities will be available and how will you physically distance guests?
The Forge: Lemont Quarries is excited to offer the Eight Towers Adventure (which includes climbing towers, ziplines, high ropes courses, rappelling stations), Mountain Biking (skills and pump tracks), Paddlesports (canoes, kayaks, pedal boats), and Digital Activities (tactical laser tag and augmented reality outdoor escape games). The Eight Tower Adventure allows ten person groups starting every ten minutes which creates physical distancing while on the course. Our Mountain Biking pump track & skills course and our watersport activities restrict the maximum number of guests allowed access at any given time, while enforcing a minimum of twenty feet between guests. Our digital activities also limits the maximum number of guests during tactical laser tag, while requiring a minimum of ten feet between guests. The Two Towers Adventure (Kids Zone) and Bouldering Zone are open with limited numbers.
