Lemont, IL - Part-Time, Seasonal, and Year-Round

We are looking to grow our amazing team of adventure enthusiasts! The Adventure Guide is an entry-level position with room for immediate advancement into more senior roles. 

 

The ideal candidate has a passion for the outdoors, sports, or recreation and love working with people. In this role, you will be directly responsible for the safety of our guests, your colleagues, and yourself. A positive attitude, willingness to work hard, and learn are a must!

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Adventure Guide monitors guests’ safety and comfort as they move through the park. Responsibilities include, but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Monitoring Guests, ensuring their adherence to the safety standards, rules, and regulations as outlined by The Forge: Lemont Quarries Adventure Park

  • Communicate with guests and staff in a professional and friendly manner that instills trust, support, and creates an incredible experience

  • Perform inspections to ensure the proper functioning of all equipment

  • Assist guests as they make their way through the park, actively engaging in conversation and offering suggestions in order to better the experience

  • Act as an ambassador of The Forge, informing guests not only about the adventure experiences but also of the nature surrounding them

  • Having a sense of pride and ownership of your space and being a leader of peers and guests alike

  • Assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of all attractions and grounds

 

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be comfortable working at height

  • Great with people and passionate about working in the adventure industry

  • Be in good physical condition in order to handle the daily job duties

  • Confident and comfortable in working with guests and colleagues of all backgrounds

  • Background, experience, or active interest in mountain biking, watersports, climbing, and adventure sports is a plus.

  • Super-freakin-awesome communication skills. Seriously, you must possess the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing

  • Ability to pitch in at all levels, there is no room for a “not my job” attitude

  • Ability to easily adapt to changing needs and requirements

  • You need to be well-versed in modern computing platforms and be proficient in using Google Suite and Microsoft Office

  • Availability to work on nights and weekends

  • Must be at least 18 years old at the time training commences

PHYSICAL AND SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS

  • Because our park is located in a natural, outdoor, wooded location, candidates must be comfortable and willing to work in all seasonal outdoor weather conditions as operational duties may require

  • You must be comfortable and willing to climb as necessary

  • You need to be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds

  • Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid Certification

The ideal candidate will have a passion for the outdoors, sports, or recreation and love working with people. In this role, you will be directly responsible for amazing guest experiences. A positive attitude, willingness to work hard, and learn are a must!

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Adventure Host is on the front line of the guest experience working across all departments. Responsibilities include, but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Assisting Guests as they check-in, utilizing our reservations system to verify their information, as well as running our POS for both retail and F+B offerings

  • Serve as event host during birthday parties and group outings

  • Ensuring guests meet the requirements for utilizing the various attractions

  • Communicate with guests and staff in a professional and friendly manner that instills trust, support, and creates an incredible experience

  • Assisting guests as they enter different attractions, validating admissions tickets, and assisting with safety procedures 

  • Assist guests as they make their way through the park, actively engaging in conversation and offering suggestions in order to better the experience

  • Act as an ambassador of The Forge, informing guests not only about the adventure experiences but also of the nature surrounding them
